Ultra Thin Digital Camera with Integral Lens Array
US Patent 6,137,535
This camera utilizes segmented fields of view to enable a 1 mm thick camera which covers a 60 x 60 degree field of view. The micro optics have progressively larger decentrations to form images of offset areas of the total field of view. The field of view of each lens element is approximately 10 x 10 degrees. In order to form high resolution images with a single lens element the lenses utilize aspheric and diffractive features to correct aberrations and achromatize the system.
